Mental Health First Aid April 26, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm « PASTA: Parenting the Second Time Around Mental Health Awareness Month: Kick-off Celebration » Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that helps you, understand, and respond to someone who is experiencing a mental health or a substance use challenge. You will learn risk factors and warning signs; gain a better understanding of depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders; and explore a 5-step action plan for helping a friend or loved one, as well as learning where to turn for help. Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency. It is founded in the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and then use their strengths to stay well.
