Mental Health First Aid
May 15, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that helps you, understand, and respond to someone who is experiencing a mental health or a substance use challenge. It is founded in the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and then use their strengths to stay well.
You will learn risk factors and warning signs; gain a better understanding of depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders; and explore a 5-step action plan for helping a friend or loved one, as well as learning where to turn for help.
This virtual class is taught in 2 parts:
- Part 1 : Self-paced online 2 hour class
- Part 2: Virtual classroom with two (2) Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructors
This course requires 2-hours of self-paced pre-work that MUST BE COMPLETED prior to attending the 5-hour virtual classroom. Links and instructions for the self-paced pre-work will be sent via email to participants enrolled by May 5, 2021. Once the pre-work is completed, participants will receive a link to the virtual classroom portion scheduled for May 15, 2021.
After completing the pre-work and virtual classroom portion of the training, you will become certified in Mental Health First Aid for three years.
Registration deadline is May 5, 2021
