Join Julieann Hartley, MT-BC, NMT, to learn the basics of how different elements of music can interact with the brain to strengthen social/emotional skills, as well as important cognitive skills like attention and executive functioning. The research showing that therapeutic musical interventions can help individuals living with autism, dementia, and other neurologic conditions is strong, and musical tools can also benefit brain health for everyone. Come prepared to make some music and witness firsthand what music can do for your brain and mental health. Julieann Hartley, MT-BC, NMT, is a board-certified music therapist and neurologic music therapist, and a member of the American Music Therapy Association. She earned her B.A. from Anna Maria College, where she double majored in Music Therapy and Psychology. “Miss Julieann” has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental, behavioral, emotional, and psychological disabilities. Her new album, Therapeutic Songs for Kids, received a 2019 national Parents’ Choice Award® from the Parents’ Choice Foundation.
